This little girl just about had her life taken from her several times
now. She was picked up by Animal Control before being hit by a car. Her
owners did not come for her. They kept her a long as possible, then
on the day she was to be euthanized, our rescue saved her life with no
time to spare. Less than 24 hours after we took her in, she was
lifeless. Took her into the Vet and she tested positive for parvo. She
was hospitalized on IVs for 4 days. Vet said she was fine, and come get
her. 12 hours later, she was down again, lifeless. She ended up
spending over another week on IVs, to save her yet again. All this in a
few short months of her life. Just a baby, and her life has been on
the line so many times.
Now she has been back into foster care, 100% fine. She's now spayed,
vaccinated and wormed. She is a little timid, but once you have her in
your arms, she doesn't want you to let go. Poor girl just doesn't know
what to expect anymore and confused. She doesn't have a mean or snippy
bone in her body. And she's ALIVE!
Now she needs your help in saving her life yet one last time by finding
her a fur-ever family. She's looking for a loving family with a warm
bed. She is an indoor dog and learning to use pee pads. With what she's
been through and this weather, the foster mom has not worked on getting
her potty outdoors yet.
Small dog adoption fees "average $100-200". Mastiff adoption fee is
$350 (unless otherwise listed). Our Adoption fees are kept as low as
possible. The fees are used to pay the vet expenses. All dogs are up to
date on shots, heartworm tested, spayed or neutered, wormed, flea
preventative applied and any known problems are treated before they can
be adopted. Each year our vet bills are many thousands higher than our
adoption fees, so we are not able to adopt dogs without an adoption fee.
We have to rely highly on donations and sponsorships to stay afloat. If
you can't adopt - please consider sponsoring a dog! Cash, crates and
dog food donations are always the greatest need.
Just in the
first 2 months of 2010 we have taken in 3 puppies with parvo (average
vetting to save a parvo puppy is $700 each). 2 eye removals ($400
each). Cherry eye's repaired $250. Have one needing TPLO surgery
($3000). Etc. This is all above and beyond the cost of typical vetting. Typical
Vetting costs: Check up/Office visit - $30-50 Spay/Neuter -
depends on weight of dog $100-400 DHLPP - $27 Rabies - $25 Heartworm
test - $35 Wormer - $15-25 Antibiotics - $15-70
