"Hi ! My name is Duchess! I am a 5 year old female, beautiful, Mastiff. My life until now was very sad. I spent most of my time in a puppy mill. I was not taken care of very well and became very thin. One day, I was rescued by a Good Samaritan and sent to my foster home. I was a little scared for a while because I wasn't sure how to act around my foster mom. She soon showed me how wonderful it is to trust people and about all of the neat things there are to see in our home. I love to run around in the yard and play with their other canine "kids". I was introduced to cats, but I wasn't even scared. They are very nice and make great cuddle friends! I am still learning "house training" but my foster mom says I am coming along real well. I am crate trained and enjoy eating treats, going for walks, and sitting on laps, even though my foster mom says I am too big! I love getting hugs and I give the biggest kisses! I am a little frightened of children because they are so loud and move too fast. I like my foster home but am looking forward to a home of my own!
And now a message from my foster mom*."
Duchess is up to date on her vaccinations and has been spayed. She would do best in a home with someone that has a lot of patience. Although she is comfortable in her foster home, she will need time to get adjusted to a new environment and new people. She will not be the type of dog that can go to social events, play ball, or go for walks until she feels comfortable and fully trusts you. She must be placed in a home with a fenced in yard. Please take another special look at her. You'll not be sorry; she has a lot of love to give!
If you think your family can provide the loving home that Duchess deserves,

UPDATE from her foster mom: She now wags her tail when she sees
me come home, and lays in MY LAP to be hugged and kissed and scratched! She enjoys the company of my cats! I
have one cat that is very brave and enjoys laying next to her! So far she is the biggest sweetheart and just wants to be loved on!! She is definately coming along!!
